Outrage as Popular South African DJ Gunned Down in the City of Johannesburg.
A popular South African media personality and entertainer has been shot dead in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with entrenched crime.
Warrick Stock, widely recognized as DJ Warras, was attacked in the central business district on the afternoon of Tuesday.
Officials stated the forty-year-old presenter was accosted by three suspects, one of whom shot at him before running away.
The reason behind the attack has not been established and no one has been arrested have been made, as per the official statement.
How It Happened
Law enforcement said that Stock was attacked as he was exiting a premises near the city center landmark.
He had been present for hours at the building managing the implementation of security systems, which had been controversially occupied by unknown people, according to reports.
"It is alleged the deceased was confronted by three unknown suspects after parking his vehicle, and they began shooting at him before fleeing the scene on foot," an official report said.
Surveillance tape reportedly captured a suspect with dreadlocked hair and wearing what looked like a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before fleeing.
The DJ tried to run away after he was wounded but fell down on the opposite side of the road.
It was further revealed that Stock had an unused firearm and it was not a robbery during the assault.
Key evidence, like cartridges, were discovered at the crime scene.

Police have appealed members of the public who may have seen the suspects to assist with the investigation.
"Evidence suggests they walked a long distance after the attack, and officers have been tracking them to establish their whereabouts," added an official.

His sister, Nicole Stock, stated the family was struggling to come to terms with the loss.
"I am in shock. I cannot express the pain," she said.
"We know he was a voice for many people. He spoke out bravely about subjects not many people were ready to tackle. This is a devastating blow."
